Position: Technician I
Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance and repairs to ensure customer vehicle safety and reliability
- Conduct preventive maintenance services with minimal supervision and in a timely manner
- Troubleshoot and repair major components such as engines, transmissions, and differentials
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in the work area
- Utilize Penske tools and technologies for repair documentation and diagnostics
- Participate in technician training programs
- Complete assigned projects and tasks from supervisors
Qualifications:
- 6 years of experience in truck and tractor-trailer maintenance
- High school diploma or equivalent (vocational or technical certification preferred)
- Specialized training in major component diagnosis/troubleshooting
- Proficiency with welding, diagnostic, hand, and power tools
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred)
- Strong problem-solving and customer service skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Willingness to work in non-climate-controlled conditions and travel as necessary
- Basic computer skills
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly stand, walk, bend, climb, and sit for extended periods
- Use hands to operate tools and controls
- Safely work at heights and in all weather conditions
- Lift and move up to 50lbs regularly and up to 100lbs occasionally
